The Role – Data Project Manager

Location: Australia (Remote and Hybrid Options Available)

We’re looking for a Data Project Manager to drive the successful delivery of data and AI initiatives. This role blends strategic planning, stakeholder management, and agile execution to ensure that data projects are delivered on time, within scope, and drive maximum business impact.

You’ll lead cross-functional teams, manage complex data projects, and work closely with clients to ensure their data transformation journeys are seamless and successful.

Your Impact

• Lead high-impact data projects – Manage end-to-end delivery of data and AI initiatives.
• Drive project success – Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams – Work with data engineers, analysts, architects, and business leaders to ensure smooth project execution.
• Ensure agile execution – Implement Agile, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies for iterative and flexible project management.
• Manage stakeholders effectively – Engage with key stakeholders to align project goals with business strategy.
• Mitigate risks proactively – Identify and resolve project bottlenecks, ensuring smooth execution.
• Optimise project delivery – Continuously improve project processes to enhance efficiency and outcomes.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably in data, AI, or cloud projects.
• Proven experience managing end-to-end data initiatives, including data engineering, analytics, and AI-driven projects.
• Expertise in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and project management tools (JIRA, Confluence).
• Strong stakeholder management skills with experience in leading cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and modern data architectures.
• Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Exceptional communication skills – Able to translate complex technical concepts into clear business insights.
• A passion for delivering data-driven value and driving organisational success through data initiatives.

Nice to Have

• PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certifications.
• Experience with Databricks, Apache Spark™, or cloud-native data platforms.
• Exposure to AI/ML projects and data governance best practices.
• Prior experience in a consulting or client-facing role.
